13th Annual Photo Contest 2011

Official Rules

Get your photos ready for the Wild Bird Center's 13th Annual Photo Contest!

Starting July 1st and continuing through the end of August, the Wild Bird Center will accept photos of wild birds and animals for our annual photo contest. Photos must have been taken in the state of Colorado but may be taken in your yard or neighborhood; at a park; on a trail; or just about anywhere - but not in zoos or other artificial environments. Photos of pets, farms animals or animals or birds that have been domesticated will be rejected.

Photos must be the actual work of the photographers submitting them. Only one photo per person will be accepted. Maximum size is 10" x 12" without matte; 13" x 15" with matte. While double mattes are pretty, such mattes may be damaged when we affix photos to the wall for display. No frames are allowed. If we receive more entries than we can display, some photos may be rejected and the submitters will be notified. Any decision in this regard is solely within our discretion.

Entries will be displayed in the Wild Bird Center during September. During that month, customers visiting the store can vote for their favorite. Individuals 10 and older may vote once a day each day we are open in September.

We will count votes after September 30th. First, second and third place vote getters will receive Wild Bird Center gift certificates of $50, $35 and $25 respectively. In addition, one voter will be chosen at random to receive a $25 Wild Bird Center gift certificate as a "thank you" for helping us pick our contest winners.

The contest is open to all photographers age 10 and up who do not receive more than 50% of yearly income from selling their photographs. By entering our contest, the submitter grants the Wild Bird Center a non-exclusive right to use his or her photograph for advertising, educational and public relations purposes with or without attribution and without compensation.

We hope you’ll help us make this the best photo contest ever.
